Course Distances and Description: 

TWO SPECTACULAR AND CHALLENGING DAYS OF RIDING WITH A 56 OR 85+ MILE RIDE 
OPTION EACH DAY. EACH OPTION INCLUDES THE
SPECTACULAR EMORY PASS OF THE
BLACK RANGEThe morning staging area at the Hillsboro Community Center to Silver City (Sat., Oct. 18th) and Silver City to Hillsboro (Sun., Oct. 19th). Departure from Hillsboro and Silver City can begin as early as 7:00 a.m., but no later than 9:00 a.m. to insure sufficient time for everyone to participate.

 Six Choices of Rides:

TWO Day Options

1. Saturday – 54 MILE "CYCLING CORPSE" RIDE: EMORY PASS A scenic trip between Hillsboro and 
Silver City beginning with a climb up Emory Pass (food stop), down into the Mimbres valley (mile
marker 15 – support location); and ending in Silver City (see map below) [Purple line below].
 
2. Saturday – 90 MILE "DANCING DEAD" RIDE: TWO GRUELING CLIMBS. Same as above however 
at Mile Marker 15 (
San Lorenzo) the ride heads to Lake Roberts, up Sapillo, and eventually to Pinos
Altos before dropping down into
Silver City. [Red line]

3. Sunday – 54 MILE "MELODIOUS SKELETON" RIDE: SILVER CITY TO HILLSBORO VIA EMORY PASS. The return of day one.  

4. Sunday – 86 MILE "HAPPY CADAVER" RIDE: CITY OF ROCKS AND EMORY PASS City of Rocks

loop to Hillsboro –mostly flat with some rollers until the Emory Pass climb. The City of Rocks route goes 
along some great rock formations, and up along the Lower Mimbres valley. Little traffic and spectacular
vistas. [Green line]
 

     ONE Day Option

5.  Saturday – A scenic trip between Hillsboro and San Lorenzo beginning with a climb up Emory Pass (food stop) down into the Mimbres valley (mile marker 15 – support location) and returning to Hillsboro.

 6.  Sunday – From Silver City following the City of Rocks loop and return to Silver at San Lorenzo. Or,more simply, Silver City to San Lorenzo and return.

IMPORTANT:

As a Fundraising Ride, if you would like to ask friends and co-workers to sponsor you in this event you can bring any monies
that you have received in your support to the Vuelta to the ride on October 18th or 19th.
 

If your sponsors pay in check and would like a receipt please have them write out the check to the Red Cross of SWNM; or BikeWorks (depending on their interest).

Lodging: If participants wish to arrive the day before RV camping is available at Hillsboro RV Park call 505-895-5703 for accommodations. Also, there is some limited (15 people) lodging at the Hillsboro Community Center (indoors) for $5/person or bring a tent to sleep up the hill behind the community center.

Lodging in Silver City will be hosted by the Silver City Recreation Center [1016 N. Silver St.](all you need is a change of clothes, a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, a few bucks for food [dinner provided for a small fee). Or, stay at these locations:
